Lindsay & Will’s Burgundy + Pink Mills House Wedding in Charleston SC

was full of everything I love: gorgeous flowers, lots of shades of pink, historic venues and backdrops, gas lamps, and family heirlooms! This destination wedding definitely had that Charleston vibe.

Lindsay & Will both got ready at the Mills House Hotel which made things very easy on the timeline as well as for their families and bridal party! I was in love with Lindsays bridal details – her shoes were pink Kate Spade with gold glitter heels and she wore her grandmothers watch (and her engagement ring also belonged to her grandmother).The couple shared a private first look in the courtyard of the hotel and we took them down one of the most romantic streets in the city, Chalmers Street, which was oh so conveniently located right across the street! We photographed the bridal party in front of the pink exterior of the Mills House before everyone boarded Bonnie the Bus to head to the ceremony at the historic Redeemer Presbyterian Church a few blocks away. After the ceremony, the couple and their guests danced the night away at the Mills House.

I asked Lindsay why they chose Charleston for their destination wedding location & what they fell in love with at their venues: “When we got engaged we knew we wanted to get married somewhere close to where we grew up. I lived in Charleston for several years before moving to Boston and loved my time there. Will and I loved exploring the city and trying different restaurants. We knew that Charleston would be a perfect place for our family to come together. It’s a beautiful place and there is so much to do. I fell in love with the courtyard and fountain at The Mills House. I also love the charm of the outside of the building. We chose the church because of the history and charm!”
