Lina and Cris had one of the sweetest and most relaxed weddings we’ve attended. So much of their day was meaningful to them not only as a couple, but to their families as well. They chose to have their entire wedding take place at Lina’s childhood home in Clearwater FL, which was built in the earlier part of the 1900’s. Her mom and I chatted for a bit about how much character and charm all these old Florida homes have (-:
The ceremony and reception took place in the backyard overlooking Clearwater beach. Cris actually lived in one of the high rises across the water from Lina’s house before they met. So who knows, maybe they used to look at each other from across the water before they ever even met. I find that thought romantic (-:
Lina’s mom painted their invitation design (talented lady! They are gorgeous!), they drank out of a German wedding cup instead of lighting unity candles,Cris and his mom danced to a special song in honor of his sister who has passed on, Linas father wrote AND sang them a song at the reception, and they had relatives from all over the world as far as Germany attend the wedding.

How incredible is their infinity pool? I felt like I was transported to the Bahamas.
Linas rings are some of my favorites! I just love the hammered metals and the leaf design.
Cris’ little nephews came into the room to say hi to Lina
They were watching a video on how to tie a pretty bow ;-D
Lina and Cris chose to do a first look (yay!) and I ended up losing my first two choices to cars…so I ended up camping out at this spot outside the house gates until Jay and Cris came down (-; My couples deserve beautiful portrait locations and I wasn’t about to let a car ruin that!
I feel ya, kid. Weddings are exhausting!
I think my new blogging trend is showing from each wedding, a set of photos that shows why I think a second shooter is needed. Below is Jay’s shot, a big sweeping photo, showing the joy on Lina’s face and all of their guests watching them perform their first dance as husband and wife. It feels so editorial and lifestyle.
And then my photo, of the same moment, feels a little more intimate. You can still see a few guests, but you can really get a better sense of the happiness radiating from Lina. I can even see a hint of a smile from Cris in the eye area so you know he had a big grin on his face too! Same moment, different feelings. I love it!
